The President in Charge of Venezuela, Juan Guaidó, condemned the confrontation between the Air Force and the Yanomami ethnic group in the Amazon, which left three dead.

The national president demanded justice and to clarify responsibilities in the face of this atrocity. He nevertheless assured that these act is part of a bigger problem and its solution lies in recovering democracy and freedom in Venezuela.
“Honoring our indigenous peoples is not dedicating a day to them or using them for propaganda; it is to respect their dignity, rights and territory,” he said.
President Guaidó stated that the National Assembly and the Interim Government have denounced ethnocide in the dispute over control of illegal mining that has displaced indigenous communities and the presence of irregular armed groups to which they are vulnerable.
“Saving Venezuela is saving our ancestral ethnic groups,” he said.
For her part, the Deputy of the legitimate National Assembly, Mauligmer Baloa denounced that the indigenous communities survive in the Venezuelan jungle without services, education and in constant flight due to the constant violence by the military and guerrilla groups.
Deputy Delsa Solórzano affirmed that indigenous peoples, as cultures with ancestral roots, are part of the Nation, the State and the Venezuelan people as unique, sovereign and indivisible, therefore their rights must be respected.
The parliamentarian assured that with this unfortunate act it is evident once again how the Constitution is violated by not guaranteeing the protection of indigenous peoples, violating their Human Rights and disrespecting their culture.
Likewise, she maintained that these new murders are the responsibility of the International Criminal Court.
Last Saturday military aviation forces had a confrontation with the Yanomami indigenous community in ‘Parima B’, near Puerto Ayacucho because a router that they had lent to access the internet was not returned to the community.
Sources point out that the indigenous people lent the equipment so that everyone could communicate using a communications antenna that belongs to the officers of the Border Base.
