La semifinal de Roland Garros que opone al noruego Casper Ruud (N.8) y al croata Marian Cilic (N.23) este sábado, quedó interrumpida durante algo más de un cuarto de hora después de que una activista climática se atase a la red para mostrar un mensaje reivindicativo.
Con el partido favorable al noruego por 3-6, 6-4, 4-1 y 15-15 en el sexto juego, la activista saltó a la pista Philippe Chatrier y se ató a uno de los extremos de la red, poniéndose de rodillas, con la mano derecha en alto y un mensaje (en inglés) en su camiseta: “Nos quedan 1.028 días”.
La activista pertenece a una asociación francesa que reclama cambios en las políticas climáticas, asegurando que quedan 1.028 días “para determinar el futuro de la humanidad”.

Los dos jugadores se marcharon a los vestuarios hasta que el personal de seguridad del torneo desató a la activista y la sacó de la pista llevada por cuatro agentes.
